Thrust Needle Roller Bearings
Flat axial needle assemblies of the AXK series — AXK1024, AXK1226, AXK2035 and AXK4060 — carrying thrust in the thinnest envelope the range offers.

Thrust in a flat assembly
A thrust needle assembly flattens the thrust bearing into a cage of needle rollers held between two washers — or run directly against machined faces of the housing and shaft where the design allows. The AXK series is the line here, and its sizes run AXK1024, AXK1226, AXK2035 and AXK4060, the code carrying bore and outside diameter in the usual needle-bearing convention. The family's bore span runs 4 to 160 mm across the thrust needle line, which is the range the assembly idea covers even though the headline AXK sizes sit at its smaller end.

Needle thrust or ball thrust
The choice against the thrust ball bearing is envelope against speed. The needle assembly is thinner at the same bore and carries its thrust on line contact, which suits flat, space-starved seats — gearbox thrust faces, clutch mechanisms, pump seats. The ball construction is thicker, runs freer, and arrives as a matched washer set. Where the seat depth is the drawing's tightest dimension, the AXK assembly is usually the answer; where the seat is open and the speed is up, the ball set earns its height.
Washers and running faces
An AXK order should state what the assembly runs against. Run between its own washers, the assembly is a self-contained flat bearing. Run against machined faces, the faces become the raceways and their finish and hardness are part of the specification — say which arrangement the design uses, and whether washers are to be supplied with the assemblies or not. That one line in the inquiry prevents the most common thrust-needle mismatch, which is an assembly delivered for a washer seat into a design that expected to provide its own.
Specifying an AXK item
State the AXK size, the washer arrangement, and the quantity — assemblies are counted in complete sets, cage and washers together where washers are ordered. The thrust case belongs in the message as well: steady or intermittent, and the direction, since a single AXK assembly takes thrust in one direction only, exactly like its ball counterpart. Reversing duties are two assemblies back to back, and should be ordered as such.
The washers are half the assembly and the half most often left off the list. Order the bearing and its washers as one line per size, and say in the message if washers are needed in a different quantity from the bearings themselves, for example where one side of the assembly reuses an existing race.
