Flanged Ball Bearing or Flange Unit
One phrase, three products: a flanged deep groove bearing, a flanged linear bushing and a flange mounted unit — separated here by the job each does.

Why one search returns three products
Flanged describes a shape, not a product: a lip or plate that locates the part against a face. Three different lines in this range alone use that shape, and search results mix all three because the phrase matches all three. A flanged ball bearing is a rotating bearing with a locating lip on its outer ring. A flanged linear bearing is a shaft bushing with a bolt-down flange. A flange unit is a housed mounted bearing that bolts flat to a frame. An inquiry written with only the phrase will be read three ways by three different readers.
| The three meanings | Code system | The job it does |
|---|---|---|
| Flanged ball bearing | F6000, F6200, F6800, F6900 | Locates a rotating bearing in a bore |
| Flanged linear bearing | LMF, LMEF, LMK, LMH | Bolts a shaft bushing to a plate |
| Flange mounted unit | UCF, UCFL, UCFB | Bolts a housed bearing to a frame |
The rotating answer: F-series flanged bearings
Inside the steel family, the flanged series — F6000, F6200, F6800 and F6900 — add a flange to the outer ring of a deep groove bearing so the bearing locates axially against the housing face without a circlip or shoulder. The miniature end of the same series does the same job in small assemblies, which is why the flanged types appear with the miniature bearings as well. If the part spins on a shaft inside a bore and the question is how it locates, this is the meaning you want.
The linear answer: flanged bushings
The flanged linear bearing is a bushing, not a rotating bearing: it slides along a shaft and its flange bolts it to the face of a plate, locating the bushing and letting it be serviced from one side. Its codes — LMF, LMEF, LMK, LMH — divide by flange shape. If the part travels straight along a shaft and bolts to a plate, this is the meaning. Nothing on this branch rotates, and nothing on the rotating branch slides; the flange is the only thing they share.
The housed answer: flange units
The flange bearing unit is a complete mounted bearing: insert, housing and bolt pattern in one part, mounting flat against a frame or wall. Its codes — UCF, UCFL, UCFB — divide by bolt pattern. If the order is for a shaft support that bolts to a machine frame and arrives ready to mount, this is the meaning, and the mounted family is the line. The tell in an old parts list is the code's company: F-numbers sit with rotating bearings, LM with linear, UC with mounted units.
Writing the inquiry so it lands once
The fix costs one word: name the family with the flange. Flanged ball bearing plus an F-code, flanged linear bearing plus an LM code, flange unit plus a UC code — each lands on exactly one line. Where an old list gives only the phrase and a size, the size's shape usually betrays the family: a bore with a shaft that slides is linear, a bore on a rotating shaft is a ball bearing, and a shaft size with a bolt pattern is a unit. State which, and the reply prices the part you meant.
